AutoLeads or Sales Navigator: which fits SMB prospecting?

LinkedIn Sales Navigator is LinkedIn's tool to find and follow decision-makers. AutoLeads starts from a trade and a city, finds businesses beyond LinkedIn too, then writes and sends.

By Nicolas Faglin, Co-founder and co-managing director

In short

  • Sales Navigator gives access to more than a billion LinkedIn members with more than 50 search filters, and 50 InMails a month.
  • It is for finding people by job title and contacting them inside LinkedIn; its pages describe neither emails nor phone numbers.
  • AutoLeads finds local businesses by trade and city, enriches them (website, ads, reviews, register, decision-makers with email) and writes the sequence.
  • AutoLeads sends by email, LinkedIn, Instagram and WhatsApp from your accounts.
  • Sales Navigator Core costs €120.99 a month per license; AutoLeads starts at €249 excl. VAT a month for the team.

When Sales Navigator is the better choice

  • Your buyers are managers active on LinkedIn (directors, heads of) in mid-size or large companies.
  • You do social selling: following accounts, seeing job changes, engaging with posts.
  • You target by function, seniority or career path, which only LinkedIn profiles allow.
  • You want to InMail people outside your network.
  • You work with Salesforce, HubSpot or Dynamics and need CRM sync (Advanced Plus plan).

When AutoLeads is the better choice

  • Your prospects are local SMBs whose owner does not always have an up-to-date LinkedIn profile.
  • You want decision-makers' professional email and the business phone, not just a profile.
  • You want to know why to write: slow or dated website, no ads, reviews, job offers.
  • You want messages written and sent for you, on several channels.
  • You prefer a per-team price rather than per license.

Is Sales Navigator enough to prospect local SMBs?

Rarely. Sales Navigator searches LinkedIn members, with filters on function, seniority or career path. It works very well for managers in structured companies. A tradesperson, a practice or a small agency is found more reliably through Google, its ads or the company register, and that is where AutoLeads looks.

What do you learn about the prospect in each tool?

Sales Navigator shows the person's profile and their company's activity on LinkedIn; the pages checked mention neither email nor phone. AutoLeads, depending on the enrichments you turn on, brings a website audit (PageSpeed + 6 criteria), running ads, Google rating and review count, job offers, the register record and decision-makers with their professional email.

How does each tool reach the prospect?

Sales Navigator sends messages and InMails inside LinkedIn: 50 InMail credits a month, accruing up to 150, credited back if the person replies within 90 days, with no extra credits for sale. AutoLeads writes the sequence for each lead and sends it from your mailboxes and your LinkedIn, Instagram or WhatsApp accounts, with cautious daily caps. You can also push the leads to Lemlist, Emelia, HubSpot or a CSV.

How much does each tool cost?

Sales Navigator shows €120.99 a month or €1,088.88 a year for Core, and €148.21 a month or €1,693.88 a year for Advanced, per license; LinkedIn says these are estimates that may exclude VAT. Advanced Plus is on quote. AutoLeads shows €249, €499 and €899 excl. VAT a month for the team, for 2,500, 5,500 and 10,800 credits; on Starter, 250 leads a month found through Google search with no enrichment, 156 with the website audit and reviews.

Can you use both?

Yes: Sales Navigator to follow a few key accounts on LinkedIn, AutoLeads to cover the SMBs of a trade in an area at volume and email them.
