AutoLeads or Lemlist: replace it or combine them?

Lemlist is a sending and sales engagement platform. AutoLeads starts from a niche and a city, finds the businesses, enriches them and writes the sequence. The two work together.

By Nicolas Faglin, Co-founder and co-managing director

In short

  • Lemlist is first a sending tool: email, LinkedIn, call, WhatsApp and SMS sequences, with built-in warm-up (lemwarm).
  • AutoLeads is first a prospect-finding tool: it finds local businesses by trade and city, then audits their website, reviews and ads.
  • AutoLeads can send by itself from your connected mailboxes and accounts, or push the leads and messages into your Lemlist.
  • Lemlist starts at $69 per month (Email plan, monthly billing); AutoLeads at €249 excl. VAT per month.
  • If you already use Lemlist, the question is not "which one" but "who finds the prospects".

When Lemlist is the better choice

  • You already have your prospect lists and mostly need to send, track and follow up.
  • You send large email volumes and want built-in warm-up for your mailboxes.
  • You want calls, SMS or a dialer in the same tool.
  • You target people by job title in mid-size or large companies, through its contact database.
  • You need two-way sync with Salesforce or Pipedrive.

When AutoLeads is the better choice

  • Your prospects are local SMBs (trades, practices, shops, agencies) that you find by trade and city rather than by job title on LinkedIn.
  • You want a concrete reason to write to each prospect: website audit, no ads running, customer reviews, job openings.
  • You want each message written from that data, without writing a template.
  • You want one tool from search to the reply-tracking board.
  • You keep Lemlist for sending: AutoLeads pushes leads and copy straight into it.

Does AutoLeads replace Lemlist?

For some teams yes, for others alongside it. AutoLeads sends sequences itself from the mailboxes (Google, Outlook or any IMAP/SMTP server) and the LinkedIn, Instagram or WhatsApp accounts you connect, with cautious daily caps (30 emails per mailbox, 20 LinkedIn invites). It has no warm-up. If you send at volume, or rely on lemwarm and built-in calling, keep Lemlist for sending and let AutoLeads fill it.

Where do prospects come from in each tool?

Lemlist highlights a database of over 650 million contacts and an email and phone finder paid in credits. AutoLeads has no database: it searches on demand for the businesses of a trade in a city, through Google search, ad detection (Meta, Google, Pages Jaunes), the company register, trade-show exhibitors or LinkedIn job offers. That is the core difference: a database mostly indexes people by job title, AutoLeads starts from the business and what it shows online.

What does AutoLeads know about a prospect before writing?

Depending on the enrichments you turn on: a website audit (PageSpeed scores plus 6 sales criteria: conversion, content, design, contact, CMS, local schema), decision-makers with their professional email, the register record (registration number, headcount, revenue), running ads, the Google rating and review count and job openings. The sequence is written from those facts. Lemlist advertises AI personalization and an intent-signals add-on; it does not describe a website audit.

How much does each tool cost?

Lemlist shows $69 per month for the Email plan and $109 for Multichannel on monthly billing ($55 and $87 per month yearly), plus a credit add-on to find emails and phones. AutoLeads shows €249, €499 and €899 excl. VAT per month for 2,500, 5,500 and 10,800 credits (20% off yearly). A lead found through Google search costs 10 credits and each enrichment adds some: 250 leads a month on Starter with no enrichment, 156 with the website audit and reviews. The two tools do different jobs: compare the cost of a booked meeting, not the sticker price.

Can you use both together?

Yes. Pick Lemlist as the destination tool of an AutoLeads campaign: the leads and the generated copy land in your Lemlist sequence, and AutoLeads reads back contact status and the unsubscribe list.
